Despite our talent, we don't know what we don't know.

While December brings in festive cheers, January promises new beginnings and resolutions. However, considering the roller coaster rider we have started since 2020, all the bets are off. We will start by reflecting on 2021 and then try to peek in to what 2022 may offer.

This Pandemic has impacted across each any very aspect of our life. And these variants keep us awake and gives us the feeling of trailing tremors after a massive earthquake. As with earthquake, tremors are difficult to follow through and so are we finding it difficult to decipher the frequent outbreaks of variants which keep popping up here and there.

In agree with you that with recent outbreaks, it is hard to assess or estimate what to expect in 2022. CEOs and CFOs are trying hard to gain composure and steer their companies. After all, they are faced with something which none of the living souls have exposed to.

They are faced with a constantly evolving situation to grapple with. The impact of Pandemic varies from industry to industry. Nature of impact ranges from immediate, imminent, certain in future etc.. No one is spared.

One important aspect which is still on the table is the reverberating impact on the way we did work. A lot of employers sincerely hope that their employees will be able to return to work soon. Is this possible in near future.

For industries like Information Technology and Information Technology enabled

services, wherein the physical presence of the work force is not mandatory; most of the employees are willing to work from home. Initial lock downs have changed the thought process. And Homo Sapiens – a creature of habit has found a work-life balance during these times. This is not only applicable to certain industries, but this mindset has also travelled across geographies and all continents.

Considering the large volume of policy changes which are being embraced by nations across, some of them are glaringly eye-catching. Like, announcement of shorter work week by United Arab Emirates, Shift of work force from high paying jobs to do what they like.

Key takeaway is that the Pandemic has convinced them to pursue a of life of their choice instead of spoiling their health and energy for someone else’s targets and ambitions.

We have only evolved in our lifestyle; the underlying societal architecture is still interwoven from the concepts which was prevailing since we started building pyramids.

Same guys with a leash still exists, they have only changed their attire and taken new fancy designations. Whereas work force has changed their attire from loin cloth to designer cloths, they still are the same. Communication devices has replaced the medium and mode by which reporting is done.

Unless this underlying architecture is changing, we can not have a healthy lifestyle, and this is the basement upon which the entire world economy is constructed and administered – having millions of tools to control and manipulate for achieving a desirable outcome.

This is my maiden post, and I don’t want to be pessimistic. All I want to say is that there is no perfect crystal ball. We have to work together to make this world a better place. Lets use this disruption as a stepping stone and hope that we are marching forward in right direction.
